Operation of choreplan.com
All tasks that are necessary to keep the cleanliness of a shared apartment are entered as jobs in choreplan.com. A price is assigned to every job, and is credited to the participant who undertakes to do the job. The participants' agreement to share all necessary tasks equally is a required prerequisite for the use of the cleaning plan. The concrete meaning of this is that all participants in the apartment-sharing community agree to carry out cleaning tasks that have the same value. Otherwise, and should a difference arise between the amounts "cleaned" by the members, the other participants can ask for payment of the difference. With the use in common of choreplan.com, all participants undertake to accept these conditions. There is no responsibility towards choreplan.com and no claims may be asserted.
Setup of a Cleaning Plan
The first step is the creation of a new cleaning plan. A job is entered for every task to be done, as well as how often it should be carried out. This is specified as a frequency expressed in days (e.g. every 7 days). The job also needs a name that describes the task to be done and its expected duration (e.g. 15 minutes). Determining the duration carefully is really worthwhile, as it will be used as the basis for the job's price. After entering all jobs, the only thing left to finish the configuration is to enter the monthly budget, which indicates the value that cleanliness has for the members of the apartment-sharing community. The overall monthly cleaning duration (calculated according to the frequency and duration of each job) is shown as a means for helping to determine the monthly budget. These total hours should then be multiplied by the average hourly wage of the members of the apartment-sharing community, as a basis for determining the monthly budget. This way, in an apartment-sharing community with an average hourly wage of 15 euros and where cleaning takes up 4 hours every month, the monthly budget should be determined at 60 euros. The total sum of the prices of all cleaning jobs for one month will be equal to this amount. After entering the monthly budget, configuration of the cleaning plan is finished.
Inviting Participants
After finishing with the configuration, the creator can see and use the new cleaning plan for the first time. The other housemates can be added now, after clicking on "Invite Participants" under Choreplan Settings > Management Tasks and entering the housemate's user name in the invitation form. The housemate gets access to the cleaning plan upon acceptance of the invitation.
Determination of Prices for Cleaning Jobs
The price of a cleaning job depends primarily on how much time has passed after the task was done the last time. This way, the price of a job immediately after it has been done is only 0.00 euros. With every day that passes, the price increases, so that when the next deadline for this job is reached, the price of the job is exactly the one that has been determined for it. This way, carrying out a job as days go by is more rewarding, and should it happen that a cleaning job is carried out long after its deadline (for example because it is difficult or unpopular), the system reacts accordingly. The software increases the rate at which the price rises day by day, so that next month this task is accomplished with more punctuality.
